of Hardwood Floor Finishes
Oil-modified urethane
is easy to apply. It is a solvent-base polyurethane
that dries in about eight hours. This type

Water-based urethane finishes are clear
and non-yellowing. They have a milder odor

minute quantities of moisture from the hair,
which causes them to dry and harden. Water-based
urethane finishes are more expensive than
oil finishes, this finish meet al the VOC
levels, a full hardwood floor refinish using
this finish will take about 2/4 days to
be complete.
Penetrating sealer
are urethane or varnish-type that are spread
on the hardwood floor and allowed to penetrate.
The excess is removed with rags or buffed
in with steel wool or synthetic pads.This
finish also act as a great sealer, but have
not UV protection, is very flamable, have
a strong odor, and change the shade of the
wood sometimes, is a great product for hardwood

dry very fast.so in one day using sealer

take 2/3 days.
Moisture-cured urethane is solvent-base
polyurethane that is more durable and more
moisture resistant than other hardwood floors
surface finishes. Moisture-cure urethane
comes in non-yellowing and in ambering types
and is generally available in satin or gloss.
These finishes are extremely difficult to
apply, have a strong odor and are best left
to the professional.if you want to use Moisture-cured
urethane to refinish your hardwood floors,
make sure that meet the levels of VOC. Moisture-cured
urethane is more expensive that the regular
oil finishes, but is excellent for Moisture.to

Conversion varnish
dries clear to slight amber and is durable.
These finishes have an extremely strong
odor and should be applied by the highly
skilled flooring professional. Conversion
varnish is affordable easy to find, but
most of them don't have UV protection making
your floor a little bit weak, is great for
commercial projects, but not for residentials
or project with high traffic, To complete
aproject with Conversion varnish will take
4/5 days.
Penetrating Wax this finish soaks into the
pores of the wood and hardens to form a
protective penetrating seal. The wax gives
a low-gloss satin sheen. It is generally
maintained with solvent-based (never water-based)
waxes, buffing pastes or cleaning liquids
(specifically made for wax-finished wood
floors and an additional thin application
of wax as needed.
Alumiunum Oxide FinishesThe
newest in wood floor finishes offers a long
lasting more durable coating than past wood
floor finishes. These finishes carry a limited
20 year wear warranties, and is the latest
trend by major prefinished wood floor manufacturers,

Hardwax Oil a hardwood floor finish made
from natural oils and waxes. This finish

big variety of colors, take long time to
dry even if is "DRY FAST" and if the color
is dark will take about 24 hours to the
first coating to dry, to complete a project
using stain will take 4/7 days.
Tung Oil some are is water and alkali resistant
offering a protective barrier.A Pure Tung
Oil finish will not darken with age as other
finishes will. It resists marring, penetrates
well, remains elastic and unlikely to check.
Tung oil builds quickly, consolidates the
wood surface and builds a transparent matte
finish. Pure Tung Oil finish will not mildew
or bleed like linseed oil when dry which
makes it an excellent candidate for outdoor
finishes
Polyurethane are liquid
plastic resins that dry to a durable satin
or gloss finish. Polyurethane hardwood floor
finishes are much more resistant to moisture
and spills and moderate heat than traditional
varnishes, and do not need much protection,
it requires considerably more drying time
and intercoat work to apply commercially.
