LAYING AND FASTENING THE FLOORING
In this GUIDE floors in California have
describe the simplest methods of achieving
successful installations of various
types of red oak white oak and other
hardwood flooring. This Hardwood flooring
installation guide is generally applicable
to most hardwood flooring. Individual
manufacturers may provide instructions
which vary from wood flooring company
to hardwood floor manufacturer, specially
in the laying of special design or construction
hardwood flooring.
Always read and follow the instructions
provided by the manufacturer.
NOTE: This covers only the installation
methods and is use as reference guide
ONLY.
1. HANDLING AND STORAGE OF YOUR
NEW WOOD FLOORING.
Hardwood Flooring is a product that has
been kiln-dried this is a procedure to
dry the wood floor. In a kiln, the wood
is usually heated above 130 F, this temperature
that the wood floor is exposed kills most
of insects, eggs, and fungi. also, with
resinous softwoods, the heat drives off
the resin that would be liquid and runny
at room temperature so is a good procedure
we have installed using this hardwood
installation guide most of the hardwood
floors installation in the peninsula area
included hardwood floor installation in
Palo Alto, wood floors installation in
Los Altos Hills hardwood installation
. To maintain the moisture level, never
load or unload the wood floor when is
raining or when is other excessively humid
conditions special hardwood floors installation
in Pacifica, tongue and grove staple class
in Belmont California and foster city
in the bay area . Remember to store the
hardwood flooring in and enclosed environment
that is very well ventilated and weather
proof. The storage area should be clean
and dry perfect places are the cities
of San Mateo California wood flooring.
Leave adequate room for good air circulation
around stacks of the wood flooring.
2. CHECK ALWAYS THE JOB SITE CONDITIONS.
Check the job site before the flooring
company make the delivery of the wood.
Be
sure
the flooring will not be exposed to excessive
periods of high humidity or moisture in
the bay area places like Brisbane California,
Redwood City in the Woodside, Pacifica
, San Francisco bay area . In joist construction
with no basement like a lost of properties
in san Jose California, Los altos California,
San Carlos and other cities in the great
bay area, outside cross ventilation through
vents or other openings in the foundation
walls must be provided with no dead air
areas. A surface cover of 6 mil polyethylene
film is ideal as a vapor retarded in crawl
space construction. Remember the average
moisture content of framing members and
sub-flooring should be below 12%-14% before
delivery of the flooring. Moisture Contents
above 12%-14% can cause moisture related
problems. When job site conditions are
satisfactory, have the flooring delivered
and broken up into small lots and stored
in the rooms where it will be installed.
Allow 4 to 5 days or more, for the flooring
to become acclimated to job site conditions.
Remember all the floors have to be exposed
to the normal job site condition so if
flooring is packaged, open and remove
packaging for acclimation some areas like
the cities of Emeryville California, South
san Francisco, San Jose California, San
Carlos in the peninsula have they own
wood supplies accepted by the NWFA so
they acclimation time is less.
